Clare is a partner in our Real Estate group mainly acting for investors and corporate end users.

She advises on all aspects of commercial real estate with particular expertise in hotel and leisure sector, including hotel management agreements and shared ownership projects, and the real estate aspects of restructuring and insolvency matters and corporate M&A transactions both in a domestic and cross border context.

Clare’s recent experience includes:

- the acquisition of a multi-let office building in Manchester;

- the acquisition of an office building in London with a view to its ultimate redevelopment;

- the domestic real estate aspects of a cross boarder M&A transaction involving 3 properties in England; and

- the financing of a hotel development in Agaba, Jordan

He assisted Legal & General Senior Living Limited on the property aspects of its £40m investment in two senior living villages in Warwick and Cheshire. Clare Whitaker specialises in investment and corporate occupier work with particular expertise in the hotels and leisure sector. For Legal & General UK Property Fund, she led the acquisition of the Hampton by Hilton Hotel at London Stansted Airport. Among the other key lawyers in the team are senior associate Megan D'Souza-Mathew, who handles development and regeneration work; senior associate Claire Morgan, who advises on deals in the transport sector; and associate Jamie Cawthorn who is ‘a very experienced residential development legal specialist whose advice is always practical and well balanced'.
