Within: Property finance

Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP is a ‘go-to firm for development financing’, recently acting for Cheyne Capital on a complex refinancing and redevelopment matter and for RBS on the financing of the acquisition and development of The Westgate Building in Glasgow. The team has also been handling an increasing amount of work for Asian banks; Simon Mead advised HSBC Hong Kong on the £169m financing of SEA Holdings' acquisition of the entire issued share capital of 33 Old Broad Street, and, alongside Robert Ludwig, acted for ICBC as senior lender on the refinancing of a shopping centre in the West Midlands. On the borrower side, the team acted for Audley Retirement on a £125m revolving credit facility, the first of its kind in the retirement villages sector. Mead, who ‘provides a first class service, is always approachable and is always willing to go the extra mile’, heads the ‘commercially strong’ team. New clients include M&G Investments and Tyndaris Real Estate.
