Angus is a partner in the London Real Estate Group. He specialises in sophisticated investment and development work predominantly for private sector clients. He recently joined Eversheds from Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP.

Angus has considerable experience of large-scale portfolio purchases, sale and leaseback transactions, securitisations and commercial property acquisitions. His expertise also covers innovative residential, retail and mixed-use developments.

Angus provides clients with a managed real estate service across key locations domestically and internationally, coordinated out of London. He acts as a single point of contact to ensure that investors, developers and occupiers receive advice tailored to their long-term business goals and achieve significant market savings.

Angus has been involved with transactions in Central Eastern Europe, UAE and China. His current work includes advising foreign companies on property investments in the City.

‘Uber impressive in every aspect of its real estate service’, Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP advises inward investors, REITs and major institutional players on development projects and large single asset and portfolio investment transactions. In the student housing space, Nicholas Bartlett advised LetterOne on the £870m sale of a portfolio of student housing to iQ, which represented 5% of the student housing market in London. Richard Lampert acted for Avanton in connection with the site assembly for a mixed-use development at Old Kent Road, including the pre-sale of social housing units to A2Dominion. Additionally, Angus Ford assisted Grainger with its purchase of 234 units of a PRS scheme in Sheffield. Lee Jackson advised China Cinda Asset Management on its £500m acquisition of a portfolio of 26 UK-based hotels from Bain Capital. The team is well-known in the hotel and leisure space, where Susan Samuel acted for Hilton Worldwide in relation to the sale of three Hilton hotels and the negotiation of a franchise agreement with the client’s landlord for those hotels. Samuel also advised Yum! Brands on the refranchising of 200 UK KFC stores, which involved the transfer of title to 14 separate franchisees. The group has also been involved in a number of headline letting transactions, which included department head Bruce Dear advising Facebook UK on the lease arrangements for its new West End HQ, and Tom Goldsmith acting for Expedia in relation to the high-value tripartite lease agreement for its new European HQ in Islington. Similarly, Dear advised KPMG on the sale and leaseback of its Canary Wharf HQ, while landlord instructions included acting for Blackstone on the complete letting arrangements for the Adelphi Building in London’s West End.
