Elizabeth is a Senior Associate in the Competition, EU and Regulatory Group.

She specialises in a wide range of competition law matters including cartel investigations, inquiries, compliance, mergers and the application of competition law to commercial agreements and arrangements. Elizabeth’s practice also includes advising on all aspects of EU/UK sanctions and export controls.

Her recent experience includes:

  • advising on numerous cartel investigations, including the European Commission's current investigations into Euro interest rate derivatives and oil markets and the OFT's investigations into dairy products and the groceries market; 
  • providing strategic advice to a potential addressee of a Commission infringement decision, in relation to possible third party litigation; 
  • advising international exporters on compliance with EU and UK export controls and sanctions, including making a number of voluntary disclosures on behalf of listed and non-listed companies to the Export Control Organisation/HMRC/HM Treasury; 
  • advising a payment services provider on the potential applicability of the draft Payment Services Directive; 
  • drafting a response to an OFT consultation on whether to make a market investigation reference to the Competition Commission in respect of payday loans; and 
  • delivering interactive competition law compliance training to clients in the fashion and food and drink sectors.

Before joining the Group Elizabeth spent 10 months in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team assisting on a major piece of competition litigation. Elizabeth has also spent 6 months on a litigation secondment to Atos Origin, a global consultancy and IT services provider.

Elizabeth’s clients describe her as “first class”, “willing to work night and day to get the job finished” and as giving “comprehensive and clear” advice.
