Julian undertakes a broad range of financial services work, including the formation and regulation of collective investment schemes, regulatory work for fund management clients, and related company and commercial work.

His experience includes unit trust and open-ended investment company launches and complex reorganisations, detailed regulatory advice, financial promotion and custody issues, and offshore closed-ended fund projects. Julian has also been closely involved in the establishment of investment fund supermarkets and other related `multi-manager` external fund link arrangements.

At Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP, Julian Brown  advised Royal London Asset Management on launching a property fund, seeded by two existing portfolios covering a range of assets, structured as an authorised contractual scheme with a PAIF feeder fund. Ronald Paterson assisted Gresham House Asset Management with the formation of a £150m fund investing in housing and infrastructure, with a local authority pension scheme acting as key investor.

    In recent years, the country ŐĀs the government has been committed to improving Taxation in Nicaragua and attempting to follow the legislative model used by some of the other countries in the region. Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua.
