Chris is a senior associate in our Insurance & Reinsurance team. He has experience of handling a broad range of insurance related disputes.

He has vast experience of acting in relation to high value and complex insurance coverage disputes in relation to a variety of types of risk including PI, TMT, life/critical illness, latent defect, commercial combined etc

Prior to joining Eversheds in 2016, Chris worked in the Professional & Commercial Risk team at DAC Beachcroft, where his predominant role was advising insurers and insured clients in relation to professional indemnity matters. He has particular experience of dealing with claims against solicitors, insurance brokers, IT and construction professionals.

Chris also advises in relation to D&O claims and has acted for directors in relation to disqualification proceedings and investigations by regulators such as the HSE, the Environment Agency and the OFT.

On the non-contentious side, Chris has experience of advising clients and drafting wordings in relation to all sections of the market.

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, Aon, HCC International Insurance Company, KPMG, XL Catlin and Lockton Companies are among its clients. Claire Carroll regularly defends claims brought against pensions professionals, trustees and advisers, and is acting for a global consultancy and the trustee of one of its occupational pension schemes in a potential professional negligence claim in relation to the possible overpayment of tax-free lump sums to more than 100 members of an occupational pension scheme. Practice head Simon Brooks, who has a ‘good understanding of the law and a common-sense approach to legal issues’, is experienced in claims against insurance brokers, lawyers, accountants and construction professionals. Matthew Allen handles claims involving finance professionals and Paula Gaddum is active across claims involving accountants, solicitors, construction professionals and brokers. Jennifer Miles and Frank Thompson are also key members of the team, as are principal associates Kate Hill and Christopher Ives, who is based in Manchester, and senior associate Naz Gauri.
