Alistair is a Partner in Eversheds' core corporate group and has broad experience in advising public and private companies on acquisitions, fundraisings, disposals, restructurings and general corporate governance.

Recent experience includes advising: the Co-operative Bank plc on its £157.5m disposal of Illius Properties Limited, AIM listed API Group plc on its recommended (initially hostile) £46m takeover by Steel Partners, fully listed Flybe Group plc on its £150m Placing and Open Offer on the London Stock Exchange, AIM listed Epwin Group plc on its £135m admission to AIM, Singapore listed Rowsley Ltd. on its joint venture with Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and BCEG in respect of the St. Michael's development in Manchester, AIM listed Fairpoint Group plc on its acquisitions of Simpson Millar LLP and Colemans-CTTS LLP, fully listed Booker Group plc on its £110m acquisition of Makro UK, Swiss listed Myriad Group AG on its £25m recommended (initially hostile) all share offer for AIM and Canadian listed Synchronica plc, Synarbor plc on its £18m takeover by Star Bidco Limited, Mr. Dennis Mendoros on his £38m disposal of Euravia Engineering & Supply Co. Limited, HSBC on the disposal of Radius Systems Limited, European Metal Recycling Limited on its acquisition of SITA's metal recycling business and Frank and Philip Frederick on the £49m disposal of Fredericks Dairies Limited.

Alistair has undertaken six month secondments to each of BAE Systems plc (2011), Flybe Group plc (2006) and Speedy Hire plc (2004).

Alistair is a member of both the Eversheds Aerospace Defence & Security sector group and the aviation team within the Transport sector group. Alistair was North West Business Insider Magazine's "Young Lawyer of the Year" for 2008/09 and is recommended in the 2016 edition of the Legal 500 and the 2013/14 edition of Chambers and Partners.

Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP's team has an excellent reputation acting for both issuers and NOMADs, and it is prominent in large, high-profile AIM and Main Market IPOs, secondary offerings and various other transactions. In 2017, Daniel HallNicola Brookes and senior associate Annika Unsworth acted for Footasylum Plc in its £170m AIM flotation and £40m placing. They also assisted Zeus Capital (as NOMAD and broker) with the £190m AIM IPO of Strix Group Plc. Sebastian Orton and Chris Halliday more recently acted as the lead advisers to OnTheMarket Plc on its proposed £100m AIM IPO. Beyond IPO work, another highlight saw practice head Stephen Nash and legal director Mark Roe advise Investec on a secondary fundraising associated with Conviviality Plc's acquisition of the Central Convenience retail business. The firm also acts for UK investment trusts and Channel Islands-based registered investment companies. Other members of the team include Simon MastersAlistair CreeSteven Hacking and Alison Starr.

The ‘responsive’ and ‘hardworking’ 11-partner team at Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP regularly handles complex transactions, often with a cross-border element, across the healthcare, aerospace, defence, retail, real estate and chemicals sectors. Company and commercial team head Simon Masters  advised WestRock Company on its $2.28bn acquisition of Multi Packaging Solutions International, and on the $1bn disposal of its home, health and beauty division. Daniel Hall acted for Zeus Capital on the £190m IPO of Strix Group and Alistair Cree  advised Carlyle Group on the disposal of a Luxembourg-based company holding the freehold of the Soapworks development in Salford Quays, Manchester.  Partner Nicola Brookes  and senior associate Elizabeth Tindall, who ‘takes a commercial approach to issues’, are also noted. The ‘brilliantTom Bridgford  leads the commercial team and advised CSC Computer Sciences on a five-year outsourcing deal with the London insurance market. Nick Stubbs, who splits his time between Leeds and Manchester, and senior associate Richard Hill are also recommended for commercial matters.
