Sullivan & Cromwell LLP established its Hong Kong law practice in 2011, following the arrival of the highly respected Kay Ian Ng. In the same year it represented the underwriters on New China Life Insurance Company’s headline $1.9bn dual listing in Hong Kong and Shanghai. It also represented the underwriters on Shanghai Pharmaceuticals’ $2.26bn Hong Kong listing. William Chua and Chun Wei are also recommended.

The well-connected Chun Wei also advised PRC company China Cinda Asset Management on a $1.64bn investment from several financial institutions. Michael DeSombre and William Chua are the other senior names.
