Position

Andrew Paley is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department in Seyfarth Shaw’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Paley’s practice focuses on defending employers in complex collective and class action litigations. Mr. Paley is co-chair of the firm’s National Wage & Hour Litigation Practice Group, Chair of the firm’s California Wage & Hour Litigation group, and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Department Steering Committee. Mr. Paley has litigated more than 100 class and collective actions for alleged wage and hour violations under both state and federal law for clients in the financial services, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, telecommunications, and insurance industries. These cases include claims alleging misclassification of employees as exempt or as independent contractors; “off-the-clock” and regular rate violations; denied reimbursements; miscalculation of commissions and bonuses; failure to pay prevailing wages; and meal/rest break violations. He also advises clients on conducting pre-litigation wage and hour audits. Additionally, Mr. Paley assists clients with regard to wage and hour due diligence matters and potential exposure analyses in connection with corporate acquisitions and transactions. He was named one of the top labor and employment lawyers in California by the Daily Journal.
