Ms. Dygert is a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Chair of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Department. She has substantial experience with all aspects of health and welfare plans. She is a member of the Health Care Reform Task Force and regularly speaks on and counsels clients regarding implementation of plan design changes, the employer mandate and related topics. She has counseled and trained clients extensively on HIPAA privacy compliance and helped implement compliance plans. She frequently provides counsel to clients on voluntary and involuntary severance and reductions in force. Ms. Dygert also has substantial experience with both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. Ms. Dygert works with clients on establishing and conducting appropriate fiduciary compliance processes—critically important in this era of intense scrutiny. She also focuses on executive compensation matters, including employment and severance agreements, stock options, restricted stock, and performance-based compensation. Ms. Dygert is involved in the international aspects of employee benefits issues.


Ms. Dygert has served as an adjunct professor in the Employee Benefits Graduate Program at John Marshall Law School. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Ms. Dygert was senior counsel at Waste Management, Inc., where she was responsible for legal review of all areas of employee benefits and executive compensation.

Chicago-based Jonathan Karelitz¬†and Jennifer Neilsson¬†act as outside counsel in relation to RR Donnelley‚Äôs employee benefit plans, while New York-based Randell Montellaro¬†provides ongoing advice to Northwell Health on a range of issues including 403(b) plans, 457(b) plans and required submissions to the IRS and DOL. Schwartz and Howard Pianko¬†(also based in New York) provide ongoing qualified and non-qualified retirement and executive compensation plan advice, as well as benefit plan consolidation advice to multi-hospital system the University Hospitals Health System.
