Mr. Pianko is a partner in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Pianko has advised a wide range of clients on the full gamut of matters relating to employee benefits, executive compensation, pension investment, plan governance, fiduciary responsibility and benefit related litigation.


Mr. Pianko's work, both in the U.S. and with respect to cross-border and international benefit matters involving domestic and non-U.S. multinationals, has led him to write extensively on employee benefit topics relating to executive compensation, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, pension plan investments, and fiduciary laws and plan governance. Mr. Pianko has lectured on these, as well as cross-border topics such as global equity compensation programs, in North and South America, as well as in Europe and Asia.

A standout mandate for the practice included¬†Richard Schwartz¬†advising David Yurman Enterprises on certain 401(k) and executive compensation agreements; senior counsel Richard Loebl¬†and associate Chelsea McCue¬†in New York were also involved in this matter. Chicago-based Jonathan Karelitz¬†and Jennifer Neilsson¬†act as outside counsel in relation to RR Donnelley‚Äôs employee benefit plans, while New York-based Randell Montellaro¬†provides ongoing advice to Northwell Health on a range of issues including 403(b) plans, 457(b) plans and required submissions to the IRS and DOL. Schwartz and Howard Pianko¬†(also based in New York) provide ongoing qualified and non-qualified retirement and executive compensation plan advice, as well as benefit plan consolidation advice to multi-hospital system the University Hospitals Health System.
