Within: Labour and employment

‘The best in Peru’, Miranda & Amado has unrivalled strength in depth, ensuring a market-leading service across all labour law issues, including restructuring strategy, complex litigation, collective bargaining and negotiations with unions and the government, and social security advice. Four partners lead the 36-strong department, namely: Jorge Toyama, who ‘really is a star’; Alfredo Salvador, a ‘great lawyer’ who is ‘skilled’ and ‘creative’; ‘very good’ Luis Vinatea; and Renato Mejía. Overall, the team’s ‘handling of substantive and procedural law puts them above any other law firm’ and consequently, numerous major domestic and international companies instruct the firm – Siemens, Citigroup, Telefónica del Perú and Procter & Gamble Peru, to name a few. Toyama and Salvador are leading advice to Grupo Repsol del Perú in both judicial and administrative proceedings concerning various labour issues, including company reorganisation and collective bargaining. The pair are also advising Banco de Credito del Peru in a collective bargaining process involving 12,000 employees nationally, while Vinatea and Toyama are acting for Lima Airport Partners in strategically-key proceedings relating to salary differences. Roberto Matallana was promoted to partner.
