Her practice focuses on comprehensive advice on matters of real estate development in urban and rural areas, including legal physical sanitation, evaluation and negotiation processes in the acquisition of land and rights thereto, necessary permits and licenses to undertake real estate projects and those related to natural resource exploitation, the development of registration procedures and the constitution of guarantees. She also participates in the design, negotiation and execution of civil and commercial contracts and cases related to topics of her specialty. She has advised companies involved in different matters, as real estate and land; among them, a major Chilean business Group, in several key real estate projects related to the heading of trade (retail); to a company holding a License Agreement for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the acquisition of land located in border areas and easements, with the intervention of Central Government, Regional Government, the Superintendent of Real Estate and other public entities; to a company that provides telecommunications infrastructure, in the negotiation, acquisition and formalization of rights of way in Lima. She also advises a real estate fund in the evaluation of different development projects for housing and commercial areas, and participates in the evaluation process, structuring and negotiating the acquisition of land in different districts of Lima, destined for the developing and construction of education campuses.

Recent instructions include advising Terranum Capital Latin America Real Estate Fund on a significant housing development, with projected investment of $400m; and acting for new client H&M Hennes & Mauritz on all its commercial premises and new projects. Contentious work includes acting for beauty retailer Cetco, a subsidiary of Belcorp, in a real estate dispute concerning 5,500m² of property in Lima. The very experienced Claudia Lucena heads the practice and stands out for her ‘appropriate answers’ and ‘ample knowledge of the real estate business in all phases’.
