Position

Howard Robbins is a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Department, and a co-head of the Strategic Corporate Planning Group. Howard represents clients in numerous industries, including sports and entertainment, retail and fashion, not-for-profit institutions, and others. He regularly negotiates collective bargaining agreements and has represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board. Howard also provides daily advice and counsel to clients in applying collective bargaining agreements and in complying with applicable labor laws.

The 'exceptional' labor team at Proskauer Rose LLP has a particularly strong track record when it comes to representing US professional sports leagues in collective bargaining negotiations. It covers the full gamut of the law, with clients appreciating the group for 'providing excellent advice in every aspect of labor and employment'. The New York-based Elise Bloom and Neil Abramson jointly chair the department. The practice is jointly led by Neil Abramson and Elise Bloom. Work highlights included representing CBS in an investigation looking into sexual harassment allegations against a former talk show host; the lead partner on this investigation was Bettina Plevan, who is widely recognized for her expertise in counseling clients in employment matters. Together with Howard Robbins, Plevan also advised the Metropolitan Opera on an investigation of a former conductor. Erika Collins specializes in advising on international and cross-border workplace issues and is praised for her ‘astonishing breadth of knowledge, which is coupled with a practical, strategic approach’. Chicago’s Nigel Telman is regularly engaged by McDonald’s to handle day-to-day counseling and internal investigations.
