Alicia began her professional career in Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque (then Bentata Hoet & Asociados) as an intern in 1992. She then pursued law studies abroad and, from 1996 to 1998, Alicia worked as an intern in Adair Law Firm (Rochester, NY, USA), and from 1998 to 1999, she was the research assistant of Dr. Peter Winship, international commercial law specialist, in Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX, USA). Alicia reentered the Firm as an associate in 2001 and became partner in 2013.

Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque (now Lega Abogados) is at the forefront of Venezuela’s IP market, handling an impressive number of trade mark and patent portfolios, and also heavily involved in IP litigation. MatĂ­as PĂ©rez-IrazĂĄbal recently assisted bufito in relation to potential infringement of a trade mark, while other clients include Google, Alcon and Viacom International. MarĂ­a Milagros Nebreda and Patricia Hoet-Limbourg provide ‘practical and comprehensive’ advice.
