Position
Partner in the London office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He was previously resident in the firm’s Hong Kong and New York offices and is the practice group leader of the firm’s global project finance group. His experience includes representing parties in the development and financing of oil and gas, natural resource, independent power, satellite and other infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His most recent assignments have included representing parties in a wide range of independent power and water projects in the GCC region; lenders on energy projects in Nigeria; lenders on a range of mining projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America; lenders on the Yemen LNG project; lenders on a European satellite financing; and creditors on two of the largest power project restructurings in the UK. He has particular expertise in multi-sourced financings, including those through official credit agencies and the capital markets. He has written numerous articles on project financing, and has been recognised as a leading project finance lawyer by a number of journals, including ‘Euromoney’ (which has recognised him as among the top 25 projects lawyers in the world), the ‘International Who’s Who of Project Finance Lawyers’ and ‘Chambers UK’ (which has designated him among the first tier of projects lawyers in both London and the Middle East as a leader in Middle East and African markets).

Has lectured at conferences addressing the negotiation of project documentation and is on the advisory board of the International Financial Law Review.
