Astrid advises internationally based clients and their family offices, trustees and private banks on international trust, tax and wealth transfer issues. Astrid’s practice has particular emphasis on the US, the UK, Continental Europe and the Middle East. Astrid has particular expertise in the structuring of established and start-up family owned businesses through the use of trusts, foundations, and holding companies. She works extensively with the firm’s corporate tax teams in the UK and the US to develop and implement holding structures for businesses and investments which take account of both personal and corporate tax issues affecting the client, their family and their businesses.

Ziva Robertson heads the team at McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, which routinely acts in some of the most high value trusts, estates, wills and probate matters as well as advising on commercial issues, fund structuring and regulatory advice. The team is also well placed to advise on evolving tax regimes. It has a particular focus on trusts and wealth management issues with a US element. The team has expertise in US tax and wealth law in both its UK and US offices. Astrid Owen is another key member of the team and she is recognised for her skill on multi-jurisdictional matters primarily where there are UK and US interests. Simon Goldring  acts for a variety of clients ranging from high-net-worth individuals, family offices and entrepreneurs through to multinational corporations both in the UK and internationally such as South Africa, Latin America, the Far East and the Middle East. Simon Gibb was promoted to partner. Jean-Marc Tirard joined Tirard Naudin Société d'Avocats and Dhana Sabanathan is now at Winckworth Sherwood LLP .
