Raymond Jacobsen, Jr. heads the global antitrust and competition practice at McDermott Will & Emery LLP from Washington DC. On the healthcare front, a team led by Chicago's Terrence Dee, Washington's Jon Dubrow and Orange County's William Diaz is representing group purchasing organization Premier in a class action filed by healthcare providers alleging that Becton Dickinson conspired with the client and its co-defendant to exclude rival syringe suppliers and raise prices. Jacobsen continues to work alongside Chicago-based David Hanselman to advise Eagle Materials and American Gypsum in class actions filed by direct and indirect purchasers of drywall, while Michelle Lowery and Joel Chefitz secured a dismissal for Steel Dynamics in a nationwide class action claiming that steel manufacturers conspired to restrict supply and fix prices; they are also based in Chicago. The 'excellent' antitrust group at McDermott Will & Emery LLP 'is uniquely effective in its analysis of regulatory issues', as well as 'exceptionally practical and solutions-oriented'. Especially noted are practice head Raymond Jacobsen, Jr. and Jon Dubrow who 'stand out from other excellent antitrust lawyers in their ability blend business needs with regulatory demands and formulate a strategy that is sensible and credible'. The pair recently collaborated with Gregory Heltzer to secure clearance on behalf of Martin Marietta Materials' $1.68bn acquisition of Bluegrass Materials, and Joel Grosberg oversaw Motorola's all-cash takeover of Aviglion. The firm's stellar client roster also includes names such as Impax, Lockheed Martin and Mountain States Health. Other key names include Jeffrey Brennan, Daniel Powers, Chicago's Stephen Wu, and William Diaz, who sits in Orange County. Unless otherwise stated, attorneys are based in Washington DC.
