Areas of practice

In addition to advising international companies on Asia-related issues, the Hong Kong office handles transactions, regulatory issues and dispute matters for Asia clients all over the world in a wide variety of industries, but with a particular focus on the insurance, technology, and energy and natural resources industries.

In co-operation with the firm’s Silicon Valley office, the Hong Kong office advises on mergers and acquisitions, licensing transactions and intellectual property dispute matters in both Asia and the United States. It advises both Asia companies on their overseas acquisitions and investments, as well as companies and funds involved in technology transactions in Asia. The practice spans critical aspects of IT and IP transactions and counselling, including procurement and protection of IT and IP, enterprise licensing, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other corporate transactions involving IP and IT assets, outsourcing and legal compliance related to data, online communications and other IT assets.
