Brook Roberts is the Managing Partner of the firm’s San Diego office. He previously served as a global Co-chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Practice. Mr. Roberts’ practice focuses on complex insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, involving a wide range of environmental, property, casualty, investment and professional liability matters. He has extensive experience in state and federal courts, securing coverage for clients under virtually every type of insurance available, including comprehensive general liability; directors and officers liability; errors and omissions coverage for professionals such as engineers and architects; environmental impairment liability; builders risk; and property policies. He has represented a host of Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex business litigation matters in federal and state courts, and before domestic and international arbitration panels.

The insurance practice at Latham & Watkins LLP covers business interruption and property loss claims, various types of liability claims, crime and fidelity losses, intellectual property and transaction-related matters. Washington DC-based partner David A. Barrett has been serving as lead coverage counsel on the National Collegiate Athletic Association's attempt to recover $75m for its medical monitoring settlement and defense costs against concussion-related bodily injury claims. In San Diego, Brook Roberts represents Montrose Chemical Corporation of California in appellate proceedings concerning a $100m coverage claim resulting from environmental contamination.
