Latham & Watkins LLP's experience includes conversions of existing corporations and partnerships into REITs; private placements and public offerings of equity, including IPOs, debt and exchangeable securities; mergers, acquisitions and liquidations; and ongoing company representation and REIT compliance issues. Active clients include Digital Realty Trust, Essex Property Trust, Hudson Pacific Properties, InvenTrust Properties, Phillips Edison, Realty Income and Redwood Trust. The team acted for Phillips Edison, a US-based owner and developer of shopping centres, on its sale of real estate assets and the third-party asset management business, to Phillips Edison Grocery Center REIT I. The global group is co-chaired by Michael Brody, Julian Kleindorfer and Ana O’Brien.
