Latham & Watkins LLP is regularly involved in major market transactions. Stefano Sciolla is local corporate practice chair; together with Giovanni Sandicchi and Antonio Coletti as well as the firm's London and Brussels offices, Sciolla advised Global Infrastructure Partners, a global, independent infrastructure investor, on the €2.4bn acquisition of Italian railway operator Italo - Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori. In other highlights, the team assisted Bain Capital with the acquisition of a majority stake in Fedrigoni, which produces fine paper for printing, editing, labels, bookbinding, packaging and paper products. Cataldo Piccarreta is also a key adviser; Giancarlo D’Ambrosio was made partner.
