Within: Private equity: transactions

Kirkland & Ellis International LLP's team has an outstanding track record of handling multi-jurisdictional big-ticket private equity transactions. Its client list includes many of the very largest US and European sponsors, including Apax Partners, Blackstone, Centerbridge, CVC, TPG and Vitruvian Partners. The group's bench strength and 'combination of practical experience and deep expertise' makes it a natural choice for complex deals involving multiple counterparties. In a high-profile move, the firm recently hired David Higgins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. Other notable partners in the team include Matthew Elliott and Celyn Evans, who acted for Wyndham Worldwide Corporation in the circa $1.3bn sale of its European vacation rental business to Platinum Equity. Also recommended are Rory Mullarkey, James Learner and Andrej Wolf, all of whom advised Apax Partners on its acquisition of luxury fashion brand Matchesfashion.com. Another highlight saw Stuart Boyd, Michael Steele, Mark Thompson and others assist Global Logistics Properties with its successful bid to acquire European logistics business Gazeley from Brookfield Asset Management for $2.8bn. The heavyweight team also includes Roger Johnson, David Arnold, Gavin Gordon, David Holdsworth and Aprajita Dhundia.
