Position
Hywel Jones is a partner in the global transactions group at King & Spalding. He has over 20 years’ experience in corporate and commercial work in various industry sectors, principally in the energy and natural resources sector (oil and gas, minerals and power) and in the automotive industry. Mr Jones’ experience ranges from private company acquisition and joint venture transactions to public company offerings (including primary and secondary securities offerings in the UK). His oil and gas experience extends to drafting and negotiating most upstream commercial agreements, including joint operating agreements and production sharing contracts, and long term oil and gas supply agreements and transportation agreements. In the automotive sector, he has considerable experience in drafting and negotiating product development agreements, tooling agreements and product supply agreements. Mr Jones is also experienced in international project finance, particularly the financing of power projects in developing countries such as Africa and India, pipeline projects, and airport and port developments. He has extensive experience of representing developers, borrowers and lenders in structuring and executing project financed transactions. Practice areas include energy and natural resources, project and equipment finance, commercial disputes litigation, and mergers and acquisitions.
