Aside from its local caseload the group regularly acts as local counsel for the Salvadoran leg of transactions spanning Central America. Practice head Zygmunt Brett leads a very capable team, which focuses principally upon financings and loan work. 2011 highlights for Brett included advising Dutch development bank FMO on a $25m revolving credit line granted to La Hipotecaria, and assisting Société Générale with a $60m uncommitted borrowing base facility extended to Puma Energy. The team's multi-jurisdictional capacity was illustrated in March 2011 when key partner Roberta Gallardo led the representation of Honduran publisher Grupo OPSA on its acquisition of Estrategia & Negocios magazine. Gallardo coordinated several due diligence procedures as well as documentation for the transaction, calling on the firm's offices in Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, and also including co-ordination in the British Virgin Islands. In early 2012, Gallardo advised HSBC Central America on the $801m sale of its assets to Colombia's Banco Davivienda, a transaction requiring assistance from the firm's office in Costa Rica, and involving other Latin American and international firms. Zygmunt Brett advised a subsidiary company of Regal Forest Holding on its acquisition of retail chain Artefacta, comprising over 90 stores in Ecuador. Lilian Zelaya and Ana Mercedes López are also recommended. Representative clients include Chevron, Walmart, Citi and Telefonica.

Arias & Muñoz has a strong focus on dispute resolution and is active in several of the most complex international arbitration cases in El Salvador. Eduardo Ángel and Armando Arias are the key contacts for this highly recommended practice. In 2011, the duo acted for ENEL Green Power in successfully concluding a $250m international arbitration case brought by CEL, a government-owned hydroelectric company and former joint venture partner of ENEL, in order to gain the right for ENEL to become the majority shareholder in La Geo, a geothermal energy developer.
