Priestly advised Bridgepoint Advisors on the sale of LBIA Holding, which owns Leeds Bradford International Airport, optimising the tax position of the client. Highlights for Ben Eaton included advising GreenOak Real Estate Advisors on the second generation of the client's European debt platform; providing all structuring advice, which had Luxembourg and US aspects. Laura Charkin assisted UK Green Investment Bank with the tax aspects of the creation of its Offshore Wind Fund.

Private equity is a core area of focus for the firm, which particularly stands out for its work in the technology, life sciences and healthcare, financial services and real estate sectors. It acts for more than 20 private equity houses, while other clients include management teams and portfolio companies.¬†Mark Soundy¬†jointly¬†heads up the practice with¬†Richard Lever, with¬†Gemma Roberts¬†being another key partner in the group. Roberts recently led a UK-US team, which advised GTT Communications on its successful acquisition of Interoute for circa ‚ā¨1.9bn, which followed a competitive auction process. In 2017, Soundy, senior associates¬†Anna Cooklin¬†and¬†Matthew Kichenside, and tax partner¬†Sarah Priestley¬†acted for Mergermarket's management team in the ¬£1bn sale of a 30% stake in Mergermarket by BC Partners to GIC. Halford also advised Capital Dynamics on forming a $383m mid-market fund comprising parallel dollar and Euro-denominated vehicles. Ed Hall¬†'has multiple solutions to every problem that is posed to him';¬†working with the firm's Paris office, he advised Chequers Capital on its seventeenth private equity fund, which raised ‚ā¨1.1bn in one closing. Hall also advised Duke Street on a fund restructuring a fund. Other fund formation clients include Bregal Investments, which¬† Hall assisted with the $960m formation of Bregal Sagemount II. Indeed, Matthew Pohlman has advised Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts on hotel management agreements for hotels in Saudi Arabia, Morocco and France. Of particular note, Pohlman assisted the client with the management agreement in connection with the conversion of the Astir Palace in Athens into a Four Seasons resort, which marks the client‚Äôs first project in the Greek market. The team has also handled management agreements for luxury residential projects in Asia and the UK.
