Daniel Angel is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  Mr. Angel is Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn's Technology Transactions Practice Group and a member of its Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Transactions Practice Group.

Mr. Angel has been a member of the New York Bar since 2004 and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York since 2005.


Mr. Angel received his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Villanova University in 1995 and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in 2003 where he was the editor-in-chief of the International and Comparative Law Journal.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP has ‘one of the most dominant outsourcing practices in the US and services a blue-chip corporate client base’. Palo Alto-based Daniel Mummery, William Peters in Los Angeles and Stephen Nordahl in New York all have more than 20 years’ experience in the market and are co-heads of the firm’s strategic sourcing and commercial transactions practice. The firm focuses on domestic and international IT and BPO arrangements, including offshoring, shared services, contract restructurings and strategic alliances ranging in size from $5m to $35bn. Mummery and New York-based rising star Daniel Angel acted for insurance company MetLife in a BPO transaction with DXC Technology in the largest deal of its kind in the US insurance sector. A highlight for Peters was the outsourcing of digital and content management services for Southern California Edison Company. Nordahl’s work included advising Johnson & Johnson on a global finance and accounting transaction with Accenture in more than 65 countries.

The team advised Ford Motor Company on its formation of, investment in and collaboration with artificial intelligence (AI) company Argo AI, which develops self-driving vehicles; it also assisted Reviver Auto, which focuses on connected cars, with general corporate matters and financing. The key advisers are Shaalu Mehra and David Kennedy in Palo Alto, and New York-based Daniel Angel. Mehra advises Fortune 50 technology companies and venture-backed start-ups on the negotiation and structuring of transactions in cloud computing, technology services, IP acquisition and licensing, and data rights; Kennedy is experienced in collaboration and license agreements involving life sciences companies and in original equipment manufacturer, distribution, cloud computing, escrow and end-user license agreements involving computer software; and Angel has advised financial services, private equity, life sciences, insurance, energy and telecoms clients. Carrie LeRoy joined in Silicon Valley from White & Case LLP.
