The strategic sourcing and commercial transactions team at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP has experience acting for clients across a wide range of sectors, including media and entertainment, technology and retail. Los Angeles-based co-head William Peters has been assisting Marriott International with a number of transactions, including outsourcing agreements. In New York, co-head Stephen Nordahl was engaged by Helly Hansen on a merchandise sales agreement with Waypoint Outdoor. In Palo Alto, Shaalu Mehra led advice to Ford on the client’s high-profile $1bn investment in and collaboration with Argo AI. The team is also led by Daniel Mummery in Palo Alto. Palo Alto-based Daniel Mummery, William Peters in Los Angeles and Stephen Nordahl in New York all have more than 20 years’ experience in the market and are co-heads of the firm’s strategic sourcing and commercial transactions practice. The firm focuses on domestic and international IT and BPO arrangements, including offshoring, shared services, contract restructurings and strategic alliances ranging in size from $5m to $35bn. Mummery and New York-based rising star Daniel Angel acted for insurance company MetLife in a BPO transaction with DXC Technology in the largest deal of its kind in the US insurance sector. A highlight for Peters was the outsourcing of digital and content management services for Southern California Edison Company. Nordahl’s work included advising Johnson & Johnson on a global finance and accounting transaction with Accenture in more than 65 countries.
