Position
Partner, practice covers real estate law; has extensive experience in complex real estate finance deals, both on the equity and the banking side of the transactions. Represents real estate opportunity funds as well as the major investment banks on their European real estate investment programmes; advises on the formation of funds as well as the direct investments made by them, including tax based sales and leasebacks and general development finance. Clients include developers, bankers, and other institutions. Recent transactions include: advising international bank on the structuring of many real estate financings in Europe and elsewhere; acting as corporate counsel to major bank on it’s own corporation occupational requirements; advice on sales and leasebacks in a number of portfolio transactions; advice to US real estate funds on their European investments; advising on significant data centre investments in the UK; advising on equity and lending structures in real estate investment deals.

Trained May, May & Merrimans; qualified 1986; joined Nabarro Nathanson 1986, partner 1994; real estate partner Paul Hastings 2001-05; partner Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson 2006 to date. Published numerous articles on REITs and real estate derivatives.
