Position

US tax partner resident in Fried Frank’s London office. He advises on corporate and international tax matters for clients in a wide range of industries, including banking, hotel and hospitality, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, chemical, software, manufacturing, energy, and automotive. Much of his work involves issues encountered in cross-border transactions, including Subpart F, the foreign tax credit and other repatriation issues, intercompany pricing and the tax aspects of cross-border acquisitions, divestitures, financings, Internal restructurings, and IP transfers. Martin also regularly advises US and non-US corporate and private equity clients on the establishment and restructuring of tax-efficient multi-jurisdictional structures, flows of capital, and related hybrid planning. As part of our ongoing relationship with CIC, Martin is currently working with them in Beijing for a period which is expected to last several months.

Career

Trained US; qualified 1993; practised in Jones Day’s Washington DC and London offices, partner in London office 2003-2005; joined Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson 2005 to date, partner 2005.
