Position

Ms. Jacob is Fried Frank's Chairperson and also serves as the head of the Firm's global Capital Markets Group. Ms. Jacob acts as counsel to both issuers and underwriters in domestic and international financings and represents her clients in all types of securities offerings, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, high-yield offerings, mezzanine and bridge financings, investment-grade debt offerings, acquisition financings, and recapitalizations. She also counsels corporations on corporate governance and securities regulation.

Career

Ms. Jacob joined Fried Frank in 1978 and became partner in 1986. In June 2002, Ms. Jacob chaired an IBC UK conference titled “SEC Regulation for Non-US Companies.” She has spoken at a number of Practising Law Institute sessions, including “Understanding the Securities Laws” from 1997 to 2002, “Conducting Due Diligence” from 2000 to 2007 and the City Bar Center for Continuing Legal Education's “Complying with Securities Laws” in 2004. She is also a frequent contributor to legal and other periodicals on securities laws and financing topics.

Member

She serves as a Fellow on the New York State Bar Foundation, and is a member of the PLI Securities Regulation Institute; the American Bar Association; the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; the Law Society; the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals; and the Business Law Section, International Law and Practice, New York State Bar Association.

Education

Ms. Jacob received her JD from Cornell Law School in 1978 and her BS from Boston University in 1975.
