John McElroy is a Commercial Dispute Resolution expert. He has worked on a wide range of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration matters - often involving international elements - with an emphasis on Financial Services Disputes in the last decade. He has extensive experience of acting for and against groups of claimants. In addition, John has close relationships with a wide range of third-party funders, insurers and brokers.

John has wide experience of cases in the Chancery and Queen’s Bench Divisions of the English High Court, including the Commercial Court, as well as in the appeal courts. He was the Partner responsible for one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2017, Stuart Wall v RBS, and one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2018, Premier Motor Auctions v PwC & Lloyds Bank - both cases settled shortly before trial.

John’s clients include major domestic and international companies as well as individuals in disputes against their professional advisors and employers.

Among other cases for 2020, John is due to be in a three-week trial in the Queen’s Bench Division in March and to have an LMAA arbitration final hearing by year-end.
