The team at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP ‘can service all levels of investment and development work’ and ‘understands the importance of every deal, no matter how small’. That said, the team is often involved in some of the market’s largest transactions and development projects. Indeed, department head Chris de Pury  advised Hong Kong-listed CC Land Holdings on its £1.2bn acquisition of the Jersey company owning The Cheesegrater at 122 Leadenhall Street. Similarly, Robert MacGregor assisted Canary Wharf Group and Landsec Group on the £1.3bn sale of their joint interest in London’s Walkie-Talkie building to Hong Kong-based LKK Health Products Group. MacGregor is also advising Quintain subsidiary Tipi on the regeneration of a large estate at Wembley Park, which is among the UK’s largest build-to-rent developments. Also in the residential space, Andrew Yates and Tessa Kimber are acting for London Legacy Development Corporation in connection with two PRS-led developments at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Further, consultant Simon Allen is advising Great Western Developments on a major development scheme surrounding Paddington station. The team, which includes Laura Wild, also has experience in the hotel sector, and assisted Crosstree with the acquisition and financing of the Hotel RE Shoreditch, which included a management agreement with Mama Shelter, a Paris-based boutique brand making its first venture into the UK market. Samant Narula, who is ‘a great deal guy’, is instructed by clients including Hermes Investment Management, and Claire Milton is highly recommended. Verity Waington and Anna Robbins joined the team from Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP, but hotel specialist Karen Friebe left for Bird & Bird LLP and Anthea Bamford joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP. Alan Twine and Emma La Wita made partner in 2018.
