Building on the merger between the US-headquartered Bryan Cave and UK-based firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner in 2018, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP's 'exceptional' team excels in matters relating to real estate tax, although it also has a credible offering on the funds side, where it supports the firm's Investment Management team. The team is led by 'incredible lawyer' Elizabeth Bradley who led on tax structuring for C C Land Holdings on its £1.5bn acquisition of The Cheesegrater from a joint venture between British Land and Oxford Properties; a deal that had aspects multiple jurisdictions. She also assisted Tristan Capital with tax structuring in its acquisition of a 90% interest in a large student accommodation portfolio and its joint venture with Downing Student Accommodation. Richard Harbot advised Canary Wharf Group and Land Securities Group on the £1.28bn sale of their joint venture interest in The Walkie Talkie to LKK Health Products Group.
