Sebastian is an experienced International Arbitration specialist. He has been involved as counsel in numerous arbitration proceedings both institutional (ICC, ICSID) and ad hoc, as well as in post-arbitral disputes (annulment and enforcement) for both private and public operators and is also active in alternative dispute resolution proceedings such as mediation or conciliation. Sebastien also acts as an arbitrator and is an ICC France registered arbitrator. He is particularly active in disputes relating to construction, mining, telecoms, joint ventures and distribution agreements mainly in Africa and the Middle East Region. Sébastien also has a significant experience in the negotiation and monitoring of construction contracts (EPC contracts, lump sum contracts, etc.). He is the author of the French Chapter of the PLC Cross-border Constructions and Projects Handbook 2015. Sébastien is a lecturer in the International Business Law Master’s 2 degree at University of Paris XI. Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Sébastien Bonnard set up and headed the International Arbitration practice of Paris Based boutique Lacourte Raquin Tatar after practicing in the International Arbitration Department of Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.P.I in Paris for more than 10 years.


Sébastien’s native language is French and he is fluent in English.

Brown Rudnick LLP’s London and Paris-based integrated ten-lawyer team has been recently instructed on a series of commercial construction disputes and by new high-profile French clients. The firm also regularly receives instructions from Middle Eastern and Saudi clients and is involved in significant ICC construction cases in the region and in Africa.
