Mr. Ballard's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation with emphasis on intellectual property, real estate, banking, and energy disputes. He has tried cases at every level in state and federal courts. He has handled cases on both sides of the docket. His largest verdicts and judgments include a plaintiffs' patent infringement verdict against three defendants in Houston federal court (with a settlement worth nine figures entered into by a fourth defendant after the opening statement), a verdict on the plaintiff's side of eight figures in a products liability case (Dallas County state court) and a take-nothing judgment on the defense side against a nine-figure claim in a trade secrets case (Harris County state court). He has also handled numerous arbitrations, recently winning an arbitration award in the high eight figures which was appealed to the Supreme Court of Texas and affirmed.
Glenn Ballard is head of the firm's trial section and is a member of the firm's management committee.
