When it comes to design patents, few rival Chicago-based firm Banner & Witcoff, Ltd.. 2010 was the eighth consecutive year in which the firm procured more US design patents than any other firm; the total number reached 641 patents, most acquired for major clients such as Electrolux, Microsoft, Nike, Nokia, PepsiCo and Toshiba.
