Oksana Simonova is a Partner of Baker & McKenzie?s Banking & Finance Practice Group based in Kyiv. She also specializes in securities, mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters. Oksana Simonova has broad experience in advising clients on a wide range of banking & finance transactions, with emphasis on cross-border financing and syndicated loans. She has worked on several international capital markets deals, representing issuers and lead managers in Eurobond offerings from Ukraine. She is also advising clients on preparation and listing of shares on the foreign stock exchanges (IPOs) and led local legal team on the first main market London Stock Exchange listing of a company from Ukraine. Her expertise also includes mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie in September 2003, Oksana worked for the Kyiv Office of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey international law firm, and two years as general counsel of Closed Joint Stock Company ?Chumak?. From 1994 till 1998 Oksana worked as a Program Assistant for the International Foundation for Election Systems. She also interned with the Chambers of Honorable Bohdan A. Futey at the US Court of Federal Claims in 2000. She was promoted to the position of Partner with Baker & McKenzie in July 2007.
Fluent in written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English.
Ms. Simonova graduated with high honors from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (Institute of International Relations) in 1999 and holds a Masters Degree in International Private Law. She subsequently obtained an LL.M. degree from the Washington University School of Law (USA) in 2000 and an MBA degree from Kyiv National Economic University in 2002. Oksana is admitted to practice law in Ukraine.
