Position

Hennadiy Voytsitskyi is a Partner of the Kyiv Office of Baker & McKenzie, heading Tax Practice Group. He specializes in advising multinational and domestic clients on international tax planning and tax structuring, including cross-border inbound and outbound investment, tax controversy and litigation, wealth management. Most recently he has been heavily involved in advising on strategy negotiations and appealing against decisions and other acts and inquiries of tax authorities and tax police, including participation in litigation against tax authorities and tax police.

Career

Before Mr. Voytsitskyi joined Baker & McKenzie in Kyiv in 2000 as an associate, he worked at a Big Four audit firm as a tax consultant, and at a foreign bank in Ukraine as a head of legal department. He was promoted to a Partner in 2007.

Hennadiy Voytsitskyi is fluent in Ukrainian, English and Russian.

Mr. Voytsitskyi is a member of Tax, Customs and Transportation Committees of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

Education

Hennadiy Voytsitskyi obtained his J.D. from the Institute of International Relations in 1996 and his LL.M. in International Taxation from Harvard Law School in 2004, in which year he also successfully completed a non-degree International Tax Program of the Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice law in Ukraine. Mr. Voytsitskyi is also a licensed defense attorney of Ukraine.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
