Elisabeth Dehareng is a Partner in  the Brussels' office. She advises clients in all fields of IT, IP and new technology law, with a special focus on data protection and privacy aspects.


Elisabeth has extensive experience leading European and worldwide data protection compliance programs, including advising on cross-border data transfers strategies, processing of sensitive data, data security breaches management and notification requirements, with strong experience in the health, banking, transport and defense sectors.

Elisabeth also assists clients in the frame of complex agreements concerning software development and licensing, online platforms, cloud computing arrangements and implementation of HR management systems and solutions, including all privacy and intellectual property aspects.

Elisabeth also advises clients in relation to e-commerce, digital media and online applications, including consumer protection aspects, and legal aspects of big data and internet of things.

Elisabeth also advises on copyright and trademark infringement issues and counterfeiting.

Elisabeth is a member of the Brussels Bar and is IAPP CIPP/E certified.


Elisabeth has a Law Degree from University of Liège (2002), including an exchange program at University of Ottawa in Canada, and a Postgraduate Degree in European Law from University of Liège (2003).

Elisabeth also has a Complementary Degree in Philosophy from UCLouvain (2000).

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
