BAKER & MCKENZIE ADVISE ARQIVA ON LANDMARK DIGITAL RADIO DEAL

London , 24 July 2009 - Baker & McKenzie London has advised Arqiva on its acquisition of Global Radio's 63% share in the national commercial DAB multiplex Digital One, as well as many of Global Radio's local multiplex licences.

 

Previously a 37% stakeholder, Arqiva will now take full ownership of Digital One, and will also take control of Now Digital, the company which operates Global Radio's local digital radio multiplexes.

 

Digital One is a UK national platform, which carries Classic FM, talkSPORT, Absolute Radio, BFBS Radio, Planet Rock, Fun Kids and Amazing Radio.

 

Arqiva operates at the heart of the broadcast and mobile communications industry, providing network solutions and services in an increasingly digital world. It provides much of the infrastructure behind television, radio, and wireless communications in the UK . Arqiva's major customers include ITV, Channel 4, Five, the BBC, BSky B and the five UK mobile operators.

  • New rules due on assessment of workplace working conditions

    Continuing our practice of regularly updating our clients on changes in the Russian legislation, in this legal alert we would like to inform you that as of September 1, 2011, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation will introduce a new procedure for assessing working conditions in workplaces. 1 [1] Results of workplace assessments with respect to the working conditions conducted before September 1, 2011 (in accordance with the procedure currently in effect 2 [2]) will remain valid up until the next regular assessment.
