Of counsel to Baker & McKenzie. Advises on a range of matters, including data protection compliance and litigation, software and database licensing, electronic commerce, telecommunications and broadcast media regulatory issues, computer crime and IT systems and services contracts.
Career
Involved in law reform projects for the World Bank, the European Commission, UNCTAD, UNECE and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, as well as for a number of individual states; consultant Tarlo Lyons 1990-97; Bird & Bird 1997-2001; admitted as a solicitor to Supreme Court of England and Wales 2005; seconded to the European Commission as a national expert in electronic commerce law 1995-96; member, legal advisory board to the Information Society Directorate-General of the European Commission; professor of information and communications law and head of the Institute of Computer and Communications Law in the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary, University of London; has held visiting positions at the Universities of Texas and Melbourne.
