Position

Géry Bombeke advises foreing and Belgian companies on corporate and international tax planning. He is specifically focusing on transfer pricing, mergers and acquisition, reorganizations and financial tax (including acquisition financing, securitizations, cash pooling and tax aspect of financial products). Géry furthermore leads and performs tax due diligences and assists clients on drafting appropriate contractual tax related documentation. He is also responsible for the corporate income tax compliance assignments within the Belgian offices. His clients are mainly European and US-based multinationals.

Career

Géry Bombeke joined Baker & McKenzie in 2004 and was admitted to the Brussels’ bar in 2001. He became a national partner in 2010. Géry also regularly publishes articles in on Belgian and international taxation. Before joining Baker & McKenzie Géry was also a regular speaker at tax seminars. Since 2011, Géry is also a lecturere at the Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven.

Géry Bombeke worked as a tax consultant with Deloitte and a tax lawyar at the Vlerick Leuven. Géry is a member of the Belgian branch of the International Fiscal Association and an alumni of the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School.

Law degree from the University of Ghent (1998); Master in Tax Law from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (1999); Master in Company Law from the Catholic University of Brussels (2001); ULB Solvay Business School - International Tax Planning (2003-2004) (magna cum laude).
