Baker & Hostetler LLP represents clients in construction disputes concerning contract issues, bid protests and delay claims, in addition to providing legal counsel on large construction projects. Laurin Quiat is an experienced litigator, and represented a C.R. Lawrence subsidiary that manufactures window systems in a dispute against  a subcontractor; the subcontractor alleged that the windows did not meet prerequisite performance standards and that the client should be liable for repairs. Supported by associate Sammantha Tillotson, Quiat settled the case in favor of the client and obtained additional purchase of the client's product by the claimant. Quiat also represented David Boland Inc. in connection with its role as general contractor on a hangar construction project in Fort Carson, Colorado. A dispute arose between a subcontractor and the client concerning alleged damage, which the team, including Orlando-based duo Denis Durkin and associate Robert Sowell, settled at mediation. Quiat also managed a complex dispute between Lendlease and the client, Westmond Hospitality Group; the client alleged that Lendlease failed to properly manage construction on hotel projects throughout the United States. Quiat was supported by New York partner Benjamin Pergament and associate Panida Pollawit.
