Position

Partner; co-head of its worldwide food, drug and medical device practice group with broad expertise in all aspects of regulatory law relating to pharmaceuticals, medical and biotech products; extensive public law litigation experience both in respect of proceedings against regulatory authorities in national courts and in the European Court; head of European product liability group with recognised expertise in this field over many years through involvement in a large number of matters, many with a multinational element and including multi-claimant litigation involving pregnancy tests, oral contraceptives, blood products, pesticides and various other food and chemical product claims.

Articled McKenna & Co; qualified 1976; assistant McKenna & Co 1976-83; secondment to Schering Health Care Ltd 1978-83; partner McKenna & Co/Cameron McKenna 1984-2002; partner Arnold & Porter (UK) LLP 2002; publications include: ‘Product Liability for Medical Products’ (in ‘Medical Negligence’ by Powers & Harris, Butterworths), and ‘Data protection and abridged applications for marketing authorisations’ in Pharmaceutical Medicine by Goldberg and Lonbay (Cambridge University Press). Various other book chapters and articles on regulatory and medico-legal matters.
