Arnold & Porter’s legislative and public policy group is able to handle matters related to congressional investigations, tax, IP as well as a wide range of industries, including cybersecurity, energy and environment, financial services, food and agriculture, healthcare, insurance, telecoms and transportation and infrastructure. Charles Landgraf and Kevin O’Neill jointly lead the practice. O’Neill and his team represent Samsung in a variety of matters; for example, lobbying for the company during the development of legislation regarding 5G wireless technology in order to enhance Samsung’s position in that upcoming technology. In another matter, the team advocates on behalf of the Fraternal Government Relations Coalition (FGRC), among other things, to revise the laws protecting single-sex student organizations and address issues regarding campus safety and sexual assault on college campuses. The firm’s broad client roster includes Lloyds of London, McGraw Hill Education, medical device company Dexcom and South Korean steelmaker POSCO. Christopher Dodd joined the firm as senior counsel in January 2018from the Motion Picture Association of America.

    In May 2014, it will be ten years since Regulation No 1/2003 entered into force. When the legislator of the European Union adopted this Regulation on 16 December 2002, its main objective was to decentralise the enforcement of the two main provisions of EU antitrust law, Articles 81 and 82 of the Treaty establishing the European Community (now Articles 101 and 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU)).
