Business Immigration

Position

Partner and Head of Business Immigration

Career

Since qualifying in 2000,  Anita is an expert in business immigration and heads up Doyle Clayton's service assisting both corporate and individual clients with Business Immigration matters.

She is highly experienced in all aspects of Business Immigration law and works exclusively in this area handling a wide range of clients such as multinational corporate entities, SME’s, startups, international law firms, and high net worth individuals.

Anita provides expert advice on immigration options and strategy. She advises employers on sponsorship issues and provides advice and bespoke training on subjects such as sponsoring skilled workers on Tier 2 & 5 visas, compliance with the UK Home Office’s Prevention of Illegal Working regime and using the online sponsorship management system. Anita also works with co-counsel to facilitate the global movement of staff including arranging Schengen visas.

She deals with high net worth and skilled individuals on Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) and Tier 1 (Investor) visas, spousal applications, applications for settlement and British Citizenship. Anita has particular expertise assisting clients with immigration applications under the Turkish Association Agreement and applications for EEA nationals and their family members.

Complex business immigration issues provide a challenge that Anita particularly relishes, and she enjoys applying her expertise and creativity to find the most favourable solution for each individual case. Her often ingenious advice is the result of thinking outside the box - and occasionally outside the Immigration Rules - to put a persuasive case to the UK Home Office.

The Legal 500 (2010) includes the following client opinion of her work: ‘Anita de Atouguia “instills complete confidence”’.

Anita is recommended by the Legal 500 (2015) as being “very knowledgeable”.
