Position
Paul is a partner and senior litigator in the firm and in the territory, and head of the firm's shipping and admiralty department. His extensive experience as an advocate since being called to the Bar in Jamaica in 1984, includes a tenure of two years in that jurisdiction as Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions. Since moving to the BVI where he was admitted to practice in 1993, Paul’s practice has focused on commercial litigation, corporate insolvency, and shipping and admiralty law. He has appeared as a senior barrister in many international commercial cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Privy Council in London - the BVI's highest appellate court.
Member
Paul is a past President of the BVI Bar Association, having served in that capacity from September 2003 to February 2006. He has also represented the BVI Bar on numerous committees established in the BVI to deal with a wide range of matters concerning the law and the administration of justice in the territory. He has served for many years as an associate tutor in law at the University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies in the BVI.
Education
Pual is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica.
