Position
Main areas of expertise are banking and finance, company law and insolvency. Experience across the full range of corporate and finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, PFI, property portfolio acquisition and refinancings. Also involved in advising on shareholders’ disputes, company buy-backs of own shares, redesignation of shares, company formations and company reconstructions. Advises banks and insolvency practitioners on a full range of insolvency issues. Avril heads up the firm’s commercial practice which has been consistently ranked in the top tier for banking and finance in ‘The Legal 500’ for a number of years. The firm has also been recognised by this publication in the corporate field, as well as PFI.

Trained John McKee & Son; qualified 1992; solicitor 1992-96; partner 2006-2008; managing partner 2008 to date. Advises, tutors and lectures on both company law and advanced company law at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.
