Position
Partner specialising in family law, particularly the negotiation of financial settlements. Acknowledged as one of Scotland’s leading family law practitioners, Alasdair is well known for his expertise in negotiating separation agreements for high-net-worth individuals. He has extensive experience of dealing with complex financial issues, including business valuations, share-option schemes and pension schemes, and has developed alternative asset-protection arrangements for those entering marriage or cohabitation.

Apprenticed Tods, Murray & Jamieson; qualified 1980; assistant at Warner & Co 1980-82, then partner 1982-92; founded Loudons WS 1992; joined Turcan Connell as partner in 2001 and established the firm’s family law practice; accredited as a specialist in family law by the Law Society of Scotland.
